 "Great Watch" 2009-12-09
By D. Keenan (Los Angeles, CA USA)
I got this watch in the mail today and so far looking at it and wearing it, it seems like a very solid watch. There are no defects experienced by other users on this version. One thing to note is that the band has a lot of links and will need to be reduced by a watchmaker... not really a problem but still something to take into consideration. Overall a very good deal as to the incredibly cheap asking price

I got this watch in the mail last week and I am stoked. I'm not a watch collector but wear no jewelery other than watches and like good looking watches. This watch is gorgeous and heavy. I took it to a local jeweler and had a few links taken out. Cost me a whopping $6.00 and took 6 minutes. It fits great now and I can't wait to wear it. I know what list prices mean but I have seen this watch on the internet for 105.00 to 495.00 so 68.00 is a deal.

"Got what I paid for" 2009-12-07

I am very picky about watches and I do own quite a few. I have owned an Invicta before and was quite happy with the build and quality but this model I can not be very excited about. First big flaw for me was the bezel. The bezel is knurled and and in my book, anything knurled is meant to be turned by hand, sadly the bezel does not rotate. The second big flaw is the pushers looked like the locking type and sadly again it is not, just looks like it. Markers are small and with the date. The other big draw back for me is the second hand, it is way too thin to be useful and all the hands are too thin to be practical for technical work that require timing. The plus side is the watch and band is very hefty and should survive most abuse and could double as a hammer. The movement is very nice smooth and accurate. All the markers and sweeps are very smooth and line up to zero consistently. I guess I'm being critical about a mechanical watch I paid under a $100 dollars for but I just hate something that tries to look like something it's not.

"The look of the watch belies it price" 2009-12-07
By Brian A. Berenbach (Princeton, NJ)
After watching the presentations of Invicta on TV, i decided to get this watch because of its large size and very practical pricing. The watch is actually larger than i thought it would be, and about the most my wrist can handle. The main reason i got it was that i am far sighted and wanted a nice looking watch where I would not have to put my reading glasses on to tell time. There is good and bad. The main dials i can see without glasses, as well as the day of the week and chronograph minutes. However, I cannot see the day of the month in the little window as it is too small. With my glasses on, of course, I can see everything perfectly.

Now here is the interesting part. The Invicta is a very impressive, albeit large, watch. When i went to the jewelry store to have some links taken out, the jeweler thought I had paid several hundred dollars for it, and my adult son estimated about $500; it holds its own very well in appearance with upscale watches (e.g. Breitling). When i tell people what i actually paid they are blown away, and i still can't believe it, given the quality and appearance.

So the good is: very impressive, dressy and classy, and big, most cost effective, a nice gift.

the bad: big, may be too big for small wrists (not for a child), and if you have to wear reading glasses, you STILL won't be able to see the day of the month without putting them on.

In summary: a very nice, albeit big, dress watch, that comes off as being worth hundreds of dollars. Glamour for the budget conscious.

Ah yes, for those who don't know, if you register online you get a 5 year extended warranty. Also, the instructions downloaded from the web site are much nicer than those that are packed with the watcy.

 "husband likes it" 2009-12-06
By Happy Cat Owner (Richmond, VA, USA)
Gave this as a birthday present for my husband and he likes it. It seems to be a good watch for the price. It will hold up to everyday use. The bezel seems to work just fine. I haven't notice it being misaligned or having too much movement. That wouldn't be something my husband cares much about anyway. It is a big watch (as most of this brand seem to be) so be aware of that. About the instructions: I have bought other brands of Swiss watches, such as Lucien Piccard that came without instructions, so you're lucky to get at least one page of them. It's definitely worth $60 and looks a little more pricey than that, but not $500.
