 "Definite Eye-Catcher AND Sturdy!" 2009-12-19
By Strychnine (Okinawa, Japan)
I purchased this watch because I needed a tough timepiece and I wanted to add something eye-grabbing to my collection. This watch is an amazing and unique timepiece and it would be a fantastic addition to anyone's collection. It does have a heft to it that is noticeable, but this is a watch that is built to last and it shows with class. Amazon made this an easy purchase and I couldn't be happier. Great Watch! Highly recommended!

 "WOW!" 2009-12-04
By E. D. C. (NY USA)
This is my second Invicta watch and I must say that this watch is huge and stands out. It's very easy to adjust the band and using a eye glass kit flat head screw driver, and to adjust the time, un-screw the crown protecter and pull the crown out it may be a little stiff at first but that's ok just make sure you have strong fingers. Also this watch came with a 5 year warranty from Invicta but you must register your watch on-line within the time frame of purchase, last this watch was almost $100.00 cheaper than other on-line webs sites. Later peeps.

"Very stylish & good value for money" 2009-11-11
By Badboy "SID" (Singapore)
This watch is really HUGE & it suited to men with large wrist.

Very stylish & well build, keeps good time & for the price, its good value for money.

I also bought the yellow one but unfortunately the rubber linkage pins were very difficult to remove.

The bezel knob to adjust the time is very tight & need to use a plier to extract it out, as the knob is too small.

I been using it for almost a week now & there is no problem with the watch.

Pros.

=====

Very stylish

Good value

Keep good time

Cons.

=====

Linkage pins very difficult to remove.

Bezel knob to small & very tight to extract to adjust the time.

 "Great dial, cheap bracelet" 2010-01-15
By George B. (New York)
The overall look of the watch is great, although I'm not sure who actually designed it because it looks like the Citizen Nighthawk. The problem is the bracelet. At a suggested retail of $395 I expected solid links. They are actually hollow links. Very light weight with some sharp edges especially at the folding clasp. The case is a little light too. I'll keep it because of the overall look and the price...$56.99...and probably swap out the cheap bracelet for rubber or leather. It's an OK watch. Definitely a low-end Invicta.

 "bad investment" 2009-10-22
By Laura (Virginia)
After about two weeks I dropped this watch on the floor from just counter height. For how bulky this watch is, it should handle a simple drop. It hasn't worked right since then. The time adjustment knob (middle knob) frequently gets jammed in to far causing the watch to stop. Also the chronograph timer never sets to zero any more. It sets to 20 seconds as zero. You have to pay $25 plus your postage to send it back to be fixed. There is a reason they get poor marks with the Better Business Bureau.

"The big curved crystal actually is the biggest negative point for the watch" 2009-08-10
By Aleksandr Faktor (USA)
I bought this watch since it looked very nice on the Internet. Price was great. I had to return this watch since the crystal was curved so much that it reflected light and I could not read the time easily. Also the dial is a bit busy. I would definitely keep this watch if it was not for the extremely curved crystal. In my opinion, crystal hurts this watch overall. I did not like the feel of the Lorica band either. Leather would be better. I wish Invicta would have a little smaller watch with not so curved mineral crystal.

"Great idea - poor quality control" 2009-08-08
By medmgr (Katy, TX)
I love the design of this watch (and a lot of the Invictas) since it is so boldly unique (Invicta makes "tribute" watches also). This one is large and in your face. It can not be mistaken for anything other than an Invicta - that is what I really love about the brand.

The issue I have is on the quality side - the first invicta watch I purchased had an alignment problem with the second hand, this one has an even more annoying problem in that the inside of the crystal has streaks when you see the watch in Sunlight. At first I thought it may have been my polarized sunglasses and the severe curve on the crystal - then I looked at without the sunglasses and and you could still very clearly see the residue on the inside of the crystal. It is almost to the level of seemimg completely fogged. After reading all of the customer support issues with Invicta, I may just try and find a local watch repair place and see if they can clean the watch for me - at this price point, it is worth putting some money into the watch to get to its potential.

One more disappointment, the pattern on the dial is very difficult to see compared to other Lupah Dragons because of the black on black, you can see it - but you have to be looking at it straight on and w/ the correct light - it is too subtle. If I was going to do it over again, I would have gone ahead purchsed the copper dial version which is no longer available which makes this very modern watch look as if it is an antique from the twenties - and that is just too cool. The black w/ black band though goes great w/ the black leathers when I ride - so I won't trade it out. Next will be a Russian Diver - fingers crossed on the quality, Amazon price can not be beat by the local mall so I will not be able to inspect the actual watch prior to purchase.

 "Perfect gift" 2010-01-11
By Michael Horn (US Army Combat Support Training Center, Dublin, CA)
Purchased this as a Christmas gift for a young niece who just completed a SCUBA course. Being out of town, I received a thrilled telephone call from her as well as a follow-up letter. Let's explore why the positive response.

Value and Features

No one does price/feature/design better than Invicta. For the price, one receives a 316L stainless steel case and 3 link pinned bracelet along with SCUBA unidirectional air tank timing bezel and world class water resistance (200m+). An accurate quartz movement makes this an outstanding 'starter dive/sport watch'. Invicta's lume paint product is average and the marker visability at diving depth is 'acceptable'.

Warranty

Invicta offers a 5 year warranty with all of its product. Be aware however, Invicta charges shipping to fix problems that should not exist on new product. If you can - RETURN the defective product rather than have it fixed. Additionally, Invicta assembles many of its watches in Asia in contract lots - and it is sometimes a chore for Invicta Customer Service to locate spare parts in a timely manner.

Reliability

I have purchased 22 Invicta watches over the last six years, own 8 and have gifted the rest - all without a single problem. They range from Swiss made premium to Asian value watches - both quartz and auto-mechanical movements.

As a Senior Administrator on an Internet Watch Forum (BDWF) I have tracked the Invicta buying experience for our 4000+ membership over the years with mixed feelings. When Invicta is on target they are very good. When you have a problem with their product - its a 'rapshoot' on whether you get quality, timely customer service - or not. A sizable majority of our membership is more than satisfied ... but return rather than repair whenever you can.

Should I buy?

Yes!

With caution about Customer Service. Invicta offers style, features, design and overall best value for the price. I have a niece who is thrilled to have a Dive Watch that is both functional and stylish for a great price.

"Great value for the price" 2009-12-03
By K. Dunigan
I bought this watch as a Christmas present for my sister. I was a little apprehensive because the last Invicta that I'd purchased was very large. As a matter of fact, I gave it to my brother in law. This one has a small case and a thin bracelet. If you're like me and on the petite side, this would be a perfect diver's watch for you. It looks fairly expensive and the luminous dial is very easy to see. I'd recommend it to anyone that wants a watch comparable to a Marine Star without the $600.00 price tag. I did notice that the gold links and gold bezel are 23k plated. Nice touch.

 "Reasonable and Sporty!" 2009-12-31
By Gene Bartholomew (Chicago)
I've read the other reviews about this watch. Naturally, it's not an Omega or a Citizen. However, for those who don't have $1,000 to blow on a watch, buy this one. It's a great size and it's very sporty. Did I mention that it's reasonably priced?

There are a bunch of pompous watch collectors out there who believe that an expensive watch is the best watch. I say, "If a watch looks good on you and it's durable, than it's a good watch." Don't get me wrong, I'm not downing anyone who can afford an expensive watch--If I could, I would. However, for those who cannot, get down how you live.

This is a great watch. I suggest you get this one and the gold one with the blue dial.

"The design appears to be a straight up copy of the Citizen NightHawk" 2009-12-08
By J Sebastian (CA)
If the design of this watch appeals to you, check out the NightHawk as well here on Amazon: [...]

The Nighthawk is a really excellent timepiece - and is solar powered, never needs a battery. I hope Invicta licensed it, and didn't just steal the design, but in any case, the bottom line is that this Invicta is a basic Taiwanese made, Japanese quartz movement watch. Is it worth $69 as a designer copy? Probably. Obviously the MSRP is ridiculously inflated and they must do this just for marketing purposes: so that all their products are offered at steep discounts, as there is no way this watch is worth anything near $395.

Disclaimer that I don't own this Invicta, so I can't review its materials quality, others have already commented on that too, but my experience is that under $100, just about all quartz watches are going to be pretty much the same: Made in Asia, Japanese movement, stainless bracelet. Standard stuff. One is much the same as any other. You pay for the brand and/or design.

However, at this price point, one cannot demand a lot, whether its quality, style, or reliability. So for $69, it *is* a helluva nice design, copied from a really beautiful and stylish Citizen. Comparing to other low end designer brands like Fossil and Swatch and similar competitors, it seems to be a fairly compelling entry. Whether you're a chronophile with a wide spectrum of tastes, or just shopping for an inexpensive timepiece, this could be a nice addition to your wrist.

Listen i have the all black version of this watch. Its cool looking, slightly heavy, but i like it. I don't work for any watch companies or anything like that. just a regular guy who thought this watch was cool. the markings for the slide rule may be of slightly but not noticeable unless you are actually trying to use it. its been two weeks and the novelty has not worn off yet. but its not a very expensive watch so hey... i'm sure if you buy it you'll be satified....

I cant complain!

 "Really cheap feeling" 2009-07-21
By A. Reeve
I'm by no means a watch snob (the price of this is actually quite expensive for me) but I was immediately disappointed when I opened the box. The strap is very light and flimsy, the mechanism feels "loose" when you adjust it and the whole thing just feels cheap - which IMHO it isn't. Returned this one and I'm still looking for a good quality, decent looking watch for under $100.

 "average at best" 2009-07-14
By Jewels (New York)
As a owner of 7 Invicta's this one was clearly the corner cutter. I bought it because it does look cool, it has a different face and a Flame Fusion Crystal. The bracelet however will definately not last. It looks solid but consists of no solid pieces. The steel links are folded over to the inside edges.

The first time I ordered this item I received it with the face of the watch not centered in its casing, it was immediately returned. The second order also had a problem, the fold over clasp was on backwards. Although not enough to return it (it's a $10.00 fix at most)it did make me think of my other Invicta's. Every one has needed repair, from band reassembly to a cracked jewel on my 25 jewel Swiss automatic.

If you buy this watch understand that you will get what you pay for. I really like Invicta's SUB AQUA NOMA watches, but looking back at the brand I'd rather spend my $1,500.00+ and get another OMEGA.

 "sleek and stylish" 2009-12-29
By Hellboy Hero (Massachusetts)
This is my second Automatic watch, first one was Seiko Diver's Automatic, paid a little more than I wanted.

Got this watch I thought at a very reasonable price on Amazon. I like the black and silver, nice resin wrist band, only problem, I don't like the style of the bezel... I like bezel's that have the teeth and easier to grip and turn this one with the smooth scallop rotating bezel hard to rotate, oh well. Still looks good on my wrist, I think it's rugged enough to wear on an outdoor weekend getaway or a formal function, and to wear casually. Very pleased with Invicta. So if you're looking for a reasonable priced Diver's Watch get this one or get the other model I saw where the bezel has the teeth grooves and easier to rotate.

 "good starter automatic" 2009-12-02
By T. Collins
sharp looking watch! but looks only go so far. right off the bat its 8 seconds fast per day.not too shabby, and i can regulate it back if it doesnt slow down after about a month.i do these simple simple things myself. jap movements tend to run a touch fast at first. also the back of the watch say that its actually a 8926a. and i see teeny little scratches from them changing the band, which is the only difference between the 2 watches. if this was a big deal to me i would not have even ordered an invicta. as far as i can see, this is a really nice watch and the miyota guts have been proven solid. as far as the price is concerned, its low for an auto but if the watch doesnt work as advertised,it aint worth squat. i buy my watches for utility first.so far ,so good. also the strap is thick and flawless. the bezel is nice and tight, which is perfect because i dont want it turning unless i mean for it to turn. the clicks line up perfectly to the inner dial. you dont see that every day. like i said ...SO FAR, im very happy. for all practical purposes this is a very good buy.

From my very first watch as a kid I've had tremendous bad luck with watches. I had a fairly expensive Seiko that broke 5 times in the course of less than two years. I had a pulsar where the pins in the wrist band broke every six months or so. A Triumph that got so dirty on the inside after only one year, that the cost of cleaning was double the purchase price. The list goes on.

It almost sounds like I don't take care of my watches, like I'm wearing 'em when I go dirt bike riding or something. But nothing is further from the truth. I take great care of my watches. I take them off when I sport, or work on my car. Even when I go to the beach, I leave my watch at home. The only reliable watch I've owned was a Casio. They're sturdy and the battery usually lasts at least five years. But hate their designs... they're just [...]-ugly.

But now there is Invicta.

I think I'm slowly falling in love with this company. This watch just feels that good. It's sturdy, accurate, and the design is amazing. I usually don't go for gold in watches, but it works with this one. The blue dial and silver edges elevate it from tacky to pristine. And this watch doesn't look like it's the exception. Browsing through Invicta's catalog, one original and gorgeous design follows the other. Now, I've only owned this watch for less than six months, but I'm feeling confident. This might be the one. This might be the light at the end of the tunnel.

 "Very happy with it" 2009-08-27

What more can you say? It looks exactly as shown on the product image - the common problem with online shopping is that image differs from the product you'll receive and you always expect more. But this is not the case with this watch. As the other comment said, it is bit heavy indeed but then again, I could expect it by looking the dimensions.

 "Looks good, but..." 2009-12-10
By Geoff Coffield
Let me start by saying that overall I like the watch. For the price I paid it's not a bad deal, but I wouldn't have paid even $300 without feeling ripped off.

And let me just state unequivocally that Amazon has the best customer service I've ever experienced from a retailer of their size. I couldn't have been more happy with my experience shopping with Amazon.

Ok, back to the watch...

Good:

Appropriately large - fits my large hands nicely without looking comically large.

Nicely packaged.

Nice detail work on the watch - looks well made and gets lots of compliments.

Bad:

The date ring doesn't advance on its own - I have to manually advance it every day.

So far it's running quite fast - I have to reset it each morning. I'm hoping it settles down with time.

At the $225 I paid it's a nice-looking and solid watch, but don't expect too much. The MSRP is pure fantasy, but for a swiss movement in a nice looking package, it's a decent choice. The only letdown aesthetically is the plastic ring holding the movement...not so classy.

Overall I like it and if you can put up with its shortcomings, it's a great deal.

"Report Card for the Invicta Men's Pro Diver Collection Swiss Automatic Watch 4470" 2009-12-10
By P. Hodge (Orlando)
I am totally happy with the savings and service from Amazon.com for this wristwatch. The only down-point of this watch is, much to my disappointment for a USD $1295 retailed Swiss watch, the accuracy. I conducted 2 calibrations on the 7th, and yesterday the 8th of December 2009. I opened my internet calibrated clock on the computer and set my watch exactly to the second. The first check was approximately 24 hours later on the 8th and the second tonight, the 9th. End observation is the watch is 20 seconds fast on both tests... If you decide to own this same watch, please note, it is indeed a lovely watch and very unique, but not reliable as a timekeeper - your results may vary. Here are also some facts not listed in on this website. The movement is a Caliber 11 1/2 SW 200-1 manufactured by Sellita Watch Co. SA, Crêt du Locle 11, CH-2301 La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Tel.: +41 (0)32 967 99 67, Fax: +41 (0)32 967 99 60. I have not yet received information from Invicta where my watch was assembled - It should be in Switzerland because my watch boasts "Swiss Made" on its dial - meaning made in Switzerland, and not "Swiss Movement". The size, workmanship and identification of the Invicta brand is quite distinctive. The dial is lovely and the "brown" bezel is actually a deep and rich Starbuck's coffee colour, such as aged mohogany or burnt sienna wood. I am very demanding and yet very forgiving it seems ...

"invicta 4470 - only swiss made swiss automatic" 2009-11-28
By Petiteface (Austin, TX)
i ordered the invicta 4470 and it got delivered by amazon within two days. i got it under the black friday deal for under 230. this is the only swiss made, swiss automatic under 450 from invicta. the 9937 has a swiss movement but is not swiss made. the other option is to go for a wenger's terragraph which has an eta 2824 movement (this one has a sellita sw200 movement) but does not look as good.

the watch looks impressive and the brown bezel with white 'wave' dial looks very handsome. the strap is a little big for me and i need to get it adjusted. so far its tracking my cellphone very well and it was able to maintain its ticking through at least 8 hours. need to give it additional time to decide on its accuracy.

Update after 10 days:

Now that I have had this watch for 10 days, I can comment on its accuracy a bit more. The watch has gained about 30s in a 7 day period which is about 4-5 seconds per day. Not chronometer standards, but pretty darn close. My date advancement works just fine (except have to watch out for months with fewer than 31 days and manually adjust). I took the watch to a local jeweler and got the strap adjusted for $5. Love it and highly recommend.

"Battery DOA (Dead On Arrival)" 2010-01-10
By El Capitan of TX (Hill Country of TX)
I loved the look of the watch when it arrived and I opened the box. But my excitement turned to anguish when I realized the battery didn't work?!?!? No exchange, "Refund Only" policy hurts. If I want to buy a replacement it will cost me $58 MORE than my original purchase. That is JUST WRONG!!!

 "Elegant Timepiece" 2009-10-22
By Gerald Lewis (Mt. Laurel, NJ USA)
Considering the dearth of left-handed watches, this elegant watch meets the requirement that the controls are on the correct side for wearing on the right wrist. As described, this is a large watch both in diameter and thickness but the weight is comparable to most good watches.

I did a lot of searching for left-handed watches and there are precious few. I found a number of watches are advertised as left-handed but don't meet the main requirement. If you want a true lefty watch, this is a great choice at a great price. The MSRP tag attached to the watch is really $525 and the Amazon price is always way under half that - I happened on a great promotion last December that included free overnight shipping and an extended warranty deal.

There are not many features but I consider this a "dress" watch and I own several Casio watches that have lots of functions like stopwatches and alarms. Between the stunning black and gold color scheme and the size of the case, this watch is an attention grabber. Amazingly, I often have to point out the "left-handedness" to admirers who seem surprised that we southpaws have been reaching around watch cases for years. This is truly a great, lefty watch.

 "Very Satisfied" 2009-03-07
By Donna M. Davis
This is the 14th Invicta watch I own. Originally I purchased this watch for my son, who is not a lefty, but who wanted a watch that the crown didn't dig into his hand. I was so jealous of his watch, I bought one for me. Very good product, and a screamin' value!

The watch is great and made a perfect gift--So far, it is working perfectly, easy to use and even easier to see (best bet for an older lefty recipient!). The price is fantastic, so don't hesitate.

 "Very nice watch!!!" 2008-11-19
By J. Jiron (Alajuela, CRI)
Although I'm not a left hand man when I saw this watch and I saw all the details in the page I decided to buy it and I don't regret about the decision, it's an amazing watch and for its size it's almost impossible the people don't notice it.

I put it just 4 starts because I'd prefer it for right-handed but it's an small detail. The watch rewards that little issue. And another excellent point about this watch is the price.

In few words, if you like this watch, go for it!
