 "CRAP" 2010-01-06

This watch is a piece of crap. It is a fake. It looks really nice online but there are several things about the watch that are not true to Invicta including the shape of the side dials. Don't waste your money. Ours arrived and didn't even work. Packaging is Invicta and whoever made the watch tried hard to make it authentic but don't be fooled. My fossil watch is 100 times better.

Very sharp watch for the price. Get alot of compliments and easily looks more like a higher end watch in person, then one that cost under [...]bucks!

Watch feels perfect weight around my wrist, and really shines on my wrist.

"Great watch for the money!" 2009-10-13
By Bradly Johnson
This watch keeps very accurate time and seems reliable I have had it for 3 months now and love it's fit and finish. The reason I have rated 4 stars instead of 5 is because it is very easy to scratch up if you are not careful in part of it's high polish finish. Also it is rather beefy but if you like weight to your watch you will surely love it! For the money you can not simply get a better value!

"Beautiful Watch, but not perfect" 2009-09-21
By T. Naisbitt (Salt Lake City, Utah USA)
I really like this watch. I received it as an anniversary give from my wife to replace my existing Wegner Swiss army watch which was well worn. It functions great, however there I wish it had a locking adjustment knob. The adjustment knob has a tendency to be pulled out accidentally, stopping the watch from running. I'm assuming this happens when I reach into my pockets to pull out my keys. My old watch required you to unscrew the knob before it would pull out. This is a much better way to secure the knob rather than simply pulling it out. All in all I really like it other than this small issue.

"Why I like this watch..." 2009-12-10
By Pietro (CT, USA)
First, I have several Invicta watches, both quartz & automatic, acquired over the last 5 years...I like them for what they are (some more than others): decently-made, affordable & attractive watches suited to watch collectors on a limited budget. [Invicta has been infamous for their almost non-existent customer service, inconsistent quality control, ridiculously-inflated MSRPs, & overly-general manuals, which I have considered along the way, but the positive aspects of the watches themselves have ultimately won me over].

OK...so, taste in watches, as in most things, is subjective; I'm just sharing my opinion, and supporting it with what facts I have:

My watch's case back is imprinted with "SWISS PARTS MOVEMENT 316L ALL STAINLESS STEEL FLAME-FUSION CRYSTAL 50M WATER RESISTANT INVICTA NO. 2877" and the box it comes in includes:

-an "ISA SWISS MOVEMENT Instruction Manual-Calibre 9238" info sheet with specific instructions for setting it, as well as specific battery [Type 371-SR920SW]info

-a yellow sheet warning that changing some settings between 10PM and 6 AM can damage the mainspring and void the warranty

-a Platinum Extended [5 yr] Warranty Application [free with Amazon purchases]

A few comments:

1) This is the first time I have seen a specific instruction sheet included with one of their watches, and I welcome/applaud it. Many customers have publicly asked for this, and it seems as though Invicta has responded to it. The warning on the separate yellow sheet used to be buried in earlier manuals...another welcome change.

2) I searched "ISA" online, and this is from Wikipedia: "ISA is a quartz watch movement manufacturer currently owned by the Chung nam group. The company produces watches in Switzerland and China." So, one can infer that the movement on the 2877 is most likely a hybrid of Swiss components and Chinese assembly.

3) Invicta appears to have made at least one design change: the crystal is now "flame-fusion" instead of sapphire...and I believe the jury is still out on whether this is an improvement or not [sapphire resists scratches better than mineral, while mineral resists breakage better...and "flame-fusion" supposedly offers both]. Amazon's Product Description/Specifications/Features all state "sapphire"...as of this writing...which may have been true previously, but not on my watch.

I like the watch because:

1) It's well built with a highly-polished stainless steel case/bracelet, which rests very nicely on my average-sized wrist; it does NOT have "INVICTA" engraved along the outside, which some people may like, as do I. [I find the engraving works better on their diver watches, but is not as well-suited for dressier watches like the 2877].

2) The graphite-gray dial is quite elegant and understated...and the white Day/Date/24 Hr-"2nd Time Zone" sub-dials have a nice appearance; the size of the numbering is a tad small, but I can read them with my reading glasses ;-).

3) The instructions are well done, easy to follow, and work! A nice change!!

I've had the 4243 Invicta for over 2 years...it is a very similar watch, the main difference being the color [yellow] and the crystal [sapphire]...the rest, including the bracelet, is quite similar...I wear it on weekends, typically, and it has kept excellent time, and still looks new. This graphite-gray version will provide a nice counterpoint to the "sunny" yellow, for when I want an accessory with a more subdued appearance.

I would highly recommend this watch at the sub-$90 price range.

I bougth this watch since I didnt have any metal strap watch on my collection. It looks amazing, just as in the photo and the thing that I like the most is that its weight is very ligth, like wearing a rubber strap watch.

I definately recommend it!

 "Well Worth It." 2009-10-05
By Scooby (Denver)
Although I do agree with other customers about the lack of a precise control set, for the price I am extremely happy with this watch. It loses about two minutes a week, which to me is no big deal. It looks great.

The only thing I can add to the other comments here, is the luminescence of the hands in the dark only lasts a couple of minutes.

"It stopped running after 3 1/2 months. More than 9+ weeks to repair." 2009-05-16
By Connie Bernath
I bought this watch in November. It stopped working in March, intermittently it would not run. I changed the battery, no luck. I sent it to Invicta in April. I called them today. The ship these overseas for repair! ETA for it to be sent back to me is Late June! Nice watch, unless it stops running! They also charge $20.00 for the pleasure of not having a watch!

 "lasted 2 1/2 years" 2009-11-25
By philostratos
Good for a "banger" watch. I bought this watch in 2007 and it died about two and a half years later. I thought the watch only needed a new battery, but discovered that the battery was okay. The second hand somehow got stuck. A couple of attempts to repair it failed, and for the cheap price, it wasn't worth further effort. You get what you pay for. The watch was good looking and kept time okay, but it's not really a Swiss watch and it's not really a high end watch, although it looks like that to people who don't know watches. I've owned cheap watches that lasted many years. Should a $60 watch last more than a few years? You decide.

 "You're right, it's NOT blue..." 2009-11-20
By P. Szaday (Austin,Tx)
I had originally requested the silver faced model of this watch (which got lost on transit 1st time around) but they were sold out so I opted for the blue version. Having done the research prior for the silver model, I didn't think that there would be concern as for the authenticity of the color (was I wrong) After ordering, I read the reviews for this and was I surprised to hear about the purple color and that the picture was misleading. Well, it is purple and I only found one light source in a store that made it look blue. I don't mind the purple, it's different for me but I think I'll adjust. Now, for the mechanics: The watch itself seems solid, it was really easy to set the time, date, etc and as of 72 hrs of ownership, no time has been lost ( I noticed there were issues with other customers). The size is perfect for my wrist, I did have 4 links removed to fit it, but the band was rather long to begin with. The dials are small but I can see them just fine, so for me, it works. For the price I can't complain and I hope it lasts for a decent amount of time. I would of given it 5 stars but that color thing got me and no matter how much research you do, you can always do more...

 "Very Handsome Watch" 2009-10-28
By Alexander Feng (St Louis MO)
One thing i want to get out there. i am no watch expert, but i really like this watch. For me, it can be worn as both as a dress watch or for everyday business. It's bold but not flashy, as in, not like those gold ones that blind people's eyes from 50 ft away. It is subtle for most until they get a good look at it. Some of my friends have commented on how great looking my watch is. The navy blue color is very attractive.

Now some points

Some people have complained about the watch face size. In all honesty I think its fine, as in the description its about 38 mm in diameter, but at least for me since I would consider my self athletic and built, it fits my wrist just fine.

Another thing is the thickness of the watch. I'm not gonna lie, it is slightly thicker than what i wouldve imagined, but ITS A METAL WATCH. I want it to have a weighty feel so im not bothered by it at all.

Also, people, water RESISTANCE does not mean water PROOF. so if you go in the water for an extended period of time, it would make sense that water would leak in. Why you would go swimming with one of these watches in the first place is beyond me but if you are then look for sports watch, or at least one with a rubber wrist band

Again, this is one of the better watches i have owned. I deep navy blue really brings out the character of the watch, and the simple analog gives is a classic touch

Alex

 "My New Watch" 2009-12-10
By L. De Leon (Homestead, FL USA)
I just received the Invicta Women's Wildflower Diamond Watch #5058 this afternoon. It's really one of the prettiest watches I've owned. It's also very substantial in it's size. It looked smaller and a bit more delicate in the picture on this site. A bit larger than I expected. This is the first Invicta watch I've bought and overall I'm very pleased with quality and appearence of this watch. I'm so pleased that I'm looking at the men's watches as Christmas gifts. I'm looking foward to possibly buying others for myself also.

 "Nice!!" 2009-11-30
By alinadee (Whitman, Ma)
I received this watch in the mail today purchased on Black Friday(fast shipping!). It really is a beautiful watch. It also has mother of pearl around the dial which was a nice surprise as i could not see that in the pictures. the diamonds are tiny but i didnt expect them to be anything huge. they add a nice sparkle to the piece. i had originally bought this to use in the hospital setting but i think it may be too nice for that! plus you get the free platinum warranty upgrade from buying with amazon. saved me another $65 since the original tag that is on the watch says $695 and the warranty price goes by the actual retail price of the watch. the band is big, which i expected as its easier to take out links then add them. but i'm pretty sure it will only cost around $10 to get links taken out by a jeweler. the face of the watch is bigger, but not huge which i like!! easier for me to count heartrates! overall, a steal for this watch!!!
